5 Freezer Foods That Will Make Meal Prep a Breeze

Just because the freezer foods at the grocery store are high in processed ingredients and chemicals doesn’t mean all frozen foods have to be! Plan an hour or so when you get downtime to prep your freezer meals, it’ll save you a ton of time (and money) for the week to come. With the summer coming to an end and September rolling around the corner, you’ll want to have some go-to foods you can grab when the routine grind starts again. Below are 5 foods you can freeze to make your week a little smoother.

  1. Egg muffins

Fill muffin tins with eggs (or egg whites), a little cheese and veggies for an egg-cellent breakfast. Freeze them in plastic or glass and pop them in the microwave for about a minute when you want one!

  1. Smoothie bags

Choose 3-5 ingredients. Put all ingredients in a bag and store in the freezer until ready to use.  Remember to add a liquid into your blender and you’re good to go J

I like freezing spinach, half of banana, and a handful of strawberries; then I add protein powder and 1% organic milk to get my protein in and help me feel fuller through the day.

  1. Turkey burgers

These are great to have in the freezer at all times. Plus when you make your own you can get creative! I put kale and mozzarella cheese in mine! Remember to keep things interesting, eating clean and whole foods never has to be boring.

  1. Stuffed peppers

These are great for lunch or dinner. Stuff with ground turkey, beans and spinach and a thin layer of cheese. Freeze. Then when ready to eat pop in the oven for 30 minutes! It’s as simple as that!

  1. Energy balls

I absolutely love these! Super easy to make: combine oats, protein powder, cinnamon, peanut butter, honey, chocolate chips and roll into balls. Store them in the freezer in plastic or glass. You can eat them frozen if you’d like! I normally let a bag thaw out in the fridge and eat those during the week.

These recipes make my life a little easier, and I hope they do the same for you. I like simple ingredients you can throw together quickly, but if anyone ever wants more complex recipes just reach out! I’ll be happy to help you.
