12 high-protein breakfast ideas without eggs

Eggs are a great way to start off your day, and the protein can make you feel fuller for a longer period of time. They can be prepared in many different ways, whether it be scrambled, hardboiled, sunny side up, in an omelet, on a breakfast sandwich/burrito, or on toast with avocado. But although eggs are a great source of protein (containing 6 grams of protein in one whole egg and 3.6 grams of protein in one egg white), sometimes you just need to change it up. Here are a few ways to start your day off with protein, without eggs:

  1. Protein pancakes – with Walden Farms zero calorie maple syrup
  2. P28 bagel – toasted with greek yogurt cream cheese/fat-free cream cheese/peanut butter/avocado and you can’t forget Trader Joe’s everything bagel seasoning
  3. Oatmeal with a scoop of protein powder mixed in
  4. Protein shake – protein powder with 8oz unsweetened almond milk or water
  5. Protein bar
  6. Protein muffin
  7. Plain nonfat greek yogurt – with optional scoop of protein powder mixed in
  8. P28 bread french toast
  9. Smoothie with greek yogurt – with optional scoop of protein powder mixed in
  10. Nonfat cottage cheese – with optional scoop of protein powder mixed in
  11. P28 bread – toasted with peanut butter/avocado
  12. Turkey bacon or low-sodium deli ham – can be added as a side
