10 Tips to Help You Drink More Water

Drinking water is essential for every cell in your body, which is made up of about 50-65% water (in an adult body).  However, we sometimes neglect to drink ENOUGH water to reap all of the benefits of proper hydration. You are obviously drinking enough water to keep yourself alive, but if you up the water intake you will see many positive benefits. Here are the top 5 tips into getting yourself to drink more H2O!

  1. Drink out of a large water bottle or a gallon jug.

If you have one gigantic water bottle, all you need to do is finish It by the end of the day! It’s much easier to track your intake with one single bottle rather than a bunch of little bottles or glasses.

  1. Drink at least 8 oz of water BEFORE every meal, as well as throughout the meal

Not only will this help keep you feeling considerably more full and satisfied, this concept makes it so you’re always getting a little extra water in.

  1. Set alarms on your phone

If you set reminders/alarms on your phone, you’re more likely to reach for the water. You could even write post-it notes and hang them up around the house or office!

  1. Set hourly goals

Set a goal for yourself to drink a certain amount of water each hour! That way, you are not stressed about chugging loads of water at the end of the day. If you have a gallon jug, get out a sharpie and make little marks of where you should be at a specific time.

  1. Flavor it!

Flavored water is sometimes more exciting than plain old H20. Lemon and cucumber are some great macro-friendly additions to try!

  1. Use water with your drinkable supplements (protein powder, BCAA’s etc)
