Why “I don’t have time” is a lie.
We always tend to say “I don’t have time” when life gets busy and when we don’t want to feel guilty about skipping something. Believe me everyone has used this excuse but at the end of the day it’s not that you don’t have time it’s that it’s not a priority. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” say “It’s not a priority” and watch how quickly your perspective shifts when looking at life’s challenges.
Actions speak louder than words so it’s not what we say is a priority, but what we actually do that’s a priority. Yes we all say there isn’t enough hours in the day and yes it sometimes feels that way but there is literally nothing we can do about that so what it comes down to is how you choose to spend your time that defines your priorities. For example if you are someone who keeps saying “I will start my diet on Monday and start working out” but you never seem to find the time it isn’t because you don’t have enough time it is because you are not making working out and eating a well-balanced diet a priority.
We have 168 hours in a week. Your priorities are where you choose to spend those hours. You will be amazed on how much time you can find when you minimize the things that are not important to make room for the things that are important. Keep track on where you spend your time for example try tracking how much time you spend on the computer, watching TV, etc. Once you become aware of how many hours you spend on certain things your productivity can change, for example if you realize you watch x amount of hours watching TV just think if you take a few hours away from that you can make time for more important priorities like prepping your food, working out or whatever your priorities may be. Saying and doing are two different things so if something is important to you make it a priority.
Realistically you can do a good workout in 30 minutes so when people tell me they don’t have time to work out I don’t believe it! If it was something you wanted to do and something that was important to you, you would find the time and get the workout in. Also meal prepping takes a bit more time but there are easier ways to prep your foods, buy frozen vegetables, get meat prepared already or something easy enough to throw in the oven or crockpot, have snacks prepared and if that does not work for you there is an awesome meal prep company Eat Clean Bro that meal preps for you!
You ultimately decide what you want your priorities to be so instead of using the excuse “I don’t have time” change it to “it’s not a priority.” You are in control on how you use the 24 hours in a day use them wisely and do what is important for you!
